Terms of Service — Homebase: Family Hub

Who we are

Homebase: Family Hub is developed and published by Rate the Refs, LLC. Throughout these Terms, "homebase," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Rate the Refs, LLC and the homebase app and backend services, together the "Service." For questions about these Terms, contact us at support@homebaseapp.cloud.

Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create your own homebase account. homebase is designed for family use — a parent or guardian may add younger children to a Family Group, but those children do not hold independent accounts and are managed under the adult account holder's supervision, consistent with our Privacy Policy's Children's Privacy section.

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know right away at support@homebaseapp.cloud if you suspect unauthorized access.

The service

homebase helps families coordinate shared calendars, tasks, posts, photos, and resources within private Family Groups. Features, including any suggested recipes, events, movies, or local activities, may change, be added, or be removed over time, and we don't guarantee that any specific feature will always be available.

User content & conduct

You retain ownership of the posts, photos, comments, and other content you submit ("User Content"), but you grant us a license to store, display, and transmit it as needed to operate the Service — for example, showing your posts to other members of your Family Group.

You agree not to use homebase to:

Post content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, or that violates another person's privacy or rights, including posting photos or information about a minor without appropriate authority to do so;
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship to a Family Group;
Attempt to access another family's data without authorization, or interfere with the Service's normal operation.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

Family groups & shared data

Family Groups are built on trust among their members. Anyone you add to, or who is approved into, a Family Group can see the shared calendar events, tasks, posts, and resources within that group. You're responsible for only inviting people you want to have that access, and for understanding that other members of your Family Group — not just us — can see what you share there.

Advertising, sponsored content & affiliate links

homebase is free to use and is supported in part by third-party video advertising (served by Google AdMob) and by sponsored content and affiliate links that may appear in the feed or in shopping-list suggestions. These are identified as such where they appear. We don't control, and aren't responsible for, the products, services, or websites offered by third-party advertisers or affiliate partners. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising data is handled.

Third-party services

homebase relies on third-party services to operate — for example, Apple (push notifications, sign-in, ad measurement), Google (AdMob advertising), AWS (hosting and storage), and payment processing for advertisers who sponsor content (not for regular family accounts, which remain free). Your use of those integrations may also be subject to that provider's own terms.

Intellectual property

The homebase name, logo, and app design belong to Rate the Refs, LLC. Other than your own User Content, you may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the Service without our permission.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

homebase is provided "as is." We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any suggested content (recipes, events, movies, local activities, etc.) will be accurate or available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rate the Refs, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including from content shared by other members of your Family Group.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from within the app's Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to other users or to the Service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Rate the Refs, LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
